Caped in See by Chloe

Cape: See by Chloe {first seen here. similar style here  here + here}. Jeans: Topshop {last seen here}. Boots: Report Signature {old but similar here & here}. Hat: Goorin Bros. { similar here on sale}. Bag: Kate Spade. Bag charm: Amazon {only $2!}

*Confession moment* Sometimes I'm guilty of forgetting what I have in my closet. Hence why I've been on a selling binge via my Postmark closet. Check it out what I'm selling here.  Nonetheless, it was particularly cold & windy over the weekend & as I reached for my trusty camel coat, I quickly remembered I had this amazing cape stored away just waiting  to be worn. I purchased it last winter & unfortunately did't get much use of it. But thankfully this fall is alot cooler than last year meaning you'll be seeing it on repeat throughout the next coming months.

Stay tuned.

Dressed in BelAir

Vest: Bel Air {purchased in Paris but similar here + here}. Shirt: Target. Pants: Rag & Bone {similar here + here for only $10!}. Shoes: Vince {old but similar here}. Hat: Goorin Bros. {last seen here + here}. Bag: Chanel. Bandana: Amazon.

Sweats: those pants we all love but aren't too sure how to wear outside the house. I scored this Rag & Bone pair for about 60% off last year and immediately knew they'd be the type that I could "dress up" if need be. If you're interested in rocking sweats in the day, I suggest investing in a pair that are slightly slim fitting. That way whether you wear them with sneakers or heels, you still look polished and put together all the while remaining comfortable.

Sweater: H&M {old but similar here under $25 }. Jeans: Topshop {blue, black, + white version}. Shoes: Forever 21 . Sunnies: Celine. Bag: Chanel.

Never ever would I ever have thought that a pair of Topshop jeans would be my newest wardrobe must-have. And yes, I know I use the term "must-have" a lot here on CF, but seriouslyladies, these truly ARE a must-have!

For those looking for a super skinny distressed denim w/ a slight mid-rise, these jeans are without-a-doubt my favorite {thus far}. And to make matters even better, they're only $75! So stay tuned because you'll definitely be seeing these a whole lot more on the blog & possibly even a few other colors!

High Waist + FLARED

Chambray: Madewell {similar here + here}. Jeans: Frame Denim {similar here + here for under $100!}. Bag: Kate Spade {old}. Brooches: Chanel. Cuff: J.Crew.

Next to fringe, flares are without-a-doubt one of this season's biggest trends. Whether you keep it classic in a denim pair or decide to opt for a white {only $25!} or colored pair, I've been on the hunt for the perfect flares and I'm happy to announce that I've finally found them!

Here's a few things to look out for when shopping for the perfect pair!

1. Stretch: if you have any sort of curve, then finding a flare with stretch is a must. Look for a fit that's form-fitting in the butt, thighs, and all the way down to your knees.

2. Aim for a bigger bell that flares out and covers 90% of your shoes {hence why mine are so long}. This helps create an hourglass shape as well as smooth and elongate your legs.

3. Stick to a medium or dark wash. Like most jeans, the darker the wash, the slimmer you look.

:HOW TO WEAR:

1. From oversized sweaters and chambray shirts to just a plain old cotton tee, flares will give whatever you're wearing on top an extra chic look.

2. The looser {the top} the better. I'm a girl whose style is all about balance. If you do a skinny bottom then pair it with an oversized top. And vice-versa. Therefore, I suggest keeping your tops a little looser and let your jeans do all the hugging.

Happy Monday!

From PARIS Pt. Un

The Arc de Triomphe: one of Paris' most famous monuments & the first official stop on my trip. It was probably around 60 degrees this morning & I had the audacity to have on sandals. #theweathermanstraightlied

The benefits of staying in a flat? Coming "home" to homemade dinners using the freshest ingredients Paris had to offer! {Thanks Tiff!}

Fact: EVERYONE in Paris owns a pair of Stan Smiths. Get with it.

 {Shirt. Skirt. Sneakers.}

The obligatory Eiffel Tower shot.

To know me is to know I love a good farmer's market & Paris was full of them.

Browsing through Fendi at Le Bon Marchè.

Breathtaking architecture along Champs-Elysées.

It's safe to say the Parisians like their hot chocolate much like I do: slightly bittersweet topped with a little foam & dusted with cocoa. Simple but perfect.

Day 1 #ootd i.e. the outfit I wore to the see the Arc de Triomphe. I froze, but I was still cute though! {LoL} Dress

My trip to Paris was nothing short of amazing. Everything from the quaint neighborhoods filled with busy commuters and first-time visitors  to the simplistic yet mouth-watering croissants and pastries, -the girls and I feasted on these way too much-,  Paris is undoubteably that one place everyone can enjoy.

Despite the fact that I was sick the last 2 days, I still managed to enjoy every aspect of my trip. From the second-hand smoked I inhaled for 10 days straight to the language barrier I experienced on one too many late-night metro rides, Paris is by far a melting pot of amazing food, historical sightings, and of course, great fashion.
