Sale season is officially upon us and as you know, now -and going forward- is probably the best time to score some amazing pieces for 50-75% off. Over the years, I feel like I've mastered when and how to shop these sales but just in you haven't, read below and check out this video where I'm sharing my go-to tips and tricks on how I save while shopping.
1. First, CLEANSE. If you haven't already seen my 'How I Edit + Declutter My Wardrobe' video, do yourself a favor and watch it. But if you have, I'll quickly reiterate the importance of cleaning out you wardrobe before you go ham-and-cheese at the upcoming Zara sale. One of my best rules of advice? If you haven't worn or thought about it within the last 6-8 months, get rid of it. Period.
2. Need vs WANT. || It's SO easy to get caught up in the hype of everything being on sale and feeling like you're getting such an amazing deal but it's important to know what your wardrobe actually needs vs. what you want. Take inventory of the pieces you're missing and look for those items -or similar styles- from various retailers until you come across that perfect piece.
3. Don't buy FINAL SALE. || This is something I'm still learning but take it from me, don't do it. Once the sale season comes to an end, typically late August/ early September, many companies are desperate to get rid of things and thus, mark stuff down 75 - 80% off. Now yes, that's my kind of deal. However, 9 out of 10 times, these pieces will be final sale because they're simply trying to get rid of it to make room for new inventory. So unless you know for a fact that you can fit and/or utilize said item, don't get caught up buying something that you can't return or wear simply because of the amazing discount.
4. Get a HEAD Start. || You'd be pretty surprised at how many pieces you can find for the upcoming season on major sale. Be sure to keep you eyes open for what fall/winter pieces you can add to your wardrobe during the summer sales.
Denim jackets are unquestionably my go-to outerwear piece for the warm weather months. I'd been eyeing this jacket for quite a while but was hesitant to get it due its embellished sleeves and uncertainty on how much use I'd actually get out of it. But after trying on -several times over,- its quickly become the perfect third piece on the days where I just need a little something extra.
Simon Miller. Shrimps. Clare V. Truss. Staud.
There's nothing more that I love than a good bag to finish off a well put together look. After doing a major closet cleanse in which I sold everyone's favorite Cult Gaia 'Ark' bag, -Yes, girl. I sold it,- I've been on the hunt for a bag with some added texture and detail but one that wasn't too trendy or overdone.
I'm pretty familiar with the designers in today's post however I've been eyeing their pieces alot more as of late and am thoroughly impressed with their style, functionality and most importantly, middle-ground price point. Be sure to keep an eye on my IG as I may or may not have pre-ordered the Staud 'Moreau' bucket bag back in March and is supposed to arrive later this week!
